Went to VFS this morning, in at around 8:20, out by 8:50. Simply printed the PPR email, filled in the table in the email, and took it along with my passport. Had my pictures taken there. All in it cost me R424.10 (Processing, photos).

Well, yay for the last visa-related costs (that I'm aware of...), now for flights and the really expensive part.

So I just received an update on the CIC website. My application was approved, and my document is valid and I have an expiration date (14 June 2018) for my visa. :D:D:D Also received an information letter under my application, telling me my visa is affixed in my passport, and it has a table with my name, validity, UCI, type, and visa number.

Also, my name is listed twice, with only the type being different (IMM1346 and IMM5688).  Googling those, seems like the former is a temporary resident visa, and the latter COPR. I should be getting those back with my passport, right?

Hi guys,

Just a quick update:

I phoned CIC yesterday. The lady was very friendly but unfortunately did not really get any new info. She just said that my application is being processed at Ottawa, criminality is passed but eligibility and security is still being reviewed - which is what I expected being stuck at stage NA2. Also said everything looks fine, no issues or red flags. So from this feedback Im not expecting PPR anytime soon.

Oh well, at least I know the delay is not due to something "bad", its just the process thats very slow for some and I have to wait it out a bit longer.

I’m sure it’s not going to be that much longer @Linda G, sometimes after people phoned Cic, ppr came through quickly afterwards...keep the faith

Thanks @Hopefully yours, will do!

I also ordered GCMS notes yesterday, so we will see if if it gets un-stuck :P.

Anyway, how are all your plans and arrangements comming along? There must be sooo much admin to take care of after getting PPR?!

I for one am still waiting for my house to go through. Everyone at works knows I'm going, so that's cool, no awkwardness there haha. It's becoming very daunting! But exciting at the same time. Especially when I try to battle City of Tshwane for a refund due to me since last year, and an apparent increase of almost 29% in my property rates since last month...

I doubt I will miss this government. :P

Hi @Reibtseb!

Glad to hear things are moving along for you. Did you manage to sell your house and waiting for the deeds office or are you waiting for it to be sold?

I can only imagine the mixed feelings! Good luck with dealing with all the red tape - it will all be worth it in the end. :ilikeit:

@Linda G, it’s coming along slowly but surely...House is in the market, praying for a buyer, in the process of sorting my husbands business stuff out...at least the people at work know we’re going and they’re very supportive...we’re only going over in April, so we’ve still got time ;)

Nope @Linda G, haven’t sold our house yet, but we’re not in a hurry to sell it because we’ve got very good tenants...

We’ve been very busy with work and the kids end-of-the-year stuff, but our plans are coming along slowly but surely...

O okay, its awesome that you have got great tenants @Hopefully yours - one less thing to worry about. :)

Selling our house will be my biggest concern.

Good luck and all the best with the rest of your arrangement!
