Help Please - Job Bank

Recommended Posts

Wasim

Hi all

Thanks for accepting my request to join. I have been on the forum for a while reading up on topics relevant to me but this is my first post. I have unfortunately been scammed by Brighter Visas (Only joined the forum after I signed with them :( otherwise I would have already been warned). Now I have an issue on Job Bank, where it requires me to re-validate my details. I need my Express Entry Profile Number and my Job Seeker Validation Code, both of which were not given to me.

Is there a way I can get these?

Great forum btw....I wish I had stumbled upon it before I was duped as it would have saved me a lot of money and undue stress/heartache

Welcome Wasim!

I am sorry to hear that you were scammed! :censored::censored::censored:

You can do it all yourself with the help of fellow forumites.

To answer your question - you would have received a letter / correspondence in your MyCIC account once you had completed your EE profile.

You will see the EE profile number and Job Seeker Validation Code referenced on that letter.

Hi Wasim

I second what Raquel says, you can do the entire application on your own.

And you get heaps of help and advice from this great forum.

Your Job Validation code and EE Profile number should have been sent to you in a letter directly to your cic account.

my sister had the same problem, she didn't realize there was a letter with all these details that was sent to her, so I suggest you go on your account and have a look again.

Sorry about being duped by immigration lawyers.

Thanks for the responses. I do not have details of my CIC account or jab bank account.

All I have is a letter which was e-mailed to me which does not have any of these details on it.

Is there a way to recover this information?

Welcome to the forum, Wasim!

I'm not too familiar with EE but found this on the CIC website:

"Where can I find my Express Entry profile number and/or Job Seeker validation code?

You can find these numbers in a message on your MyCIC account. To find it:

Log into your MyCIC account,
Go to the heading called "View my submitted applications or profiles,"
Click on "Check status and messages,"
Scroll down to the table called Correspondence,
Click on the arrow in front of the message it will open a drop-down menu with a link,
Click on the link to open the PDF message."

Now if it's not really there.... I found this "workaround" method on the Internet but do not know if it's 100% working. You can try though....

"Try to create your Job Bank account with this link https://seeker.jobbank.gc.ca/seeker/.. They should ask you about your job seeker validation code.. try to use last 4 digit of your passport number as job seeker validation code.. Complete your jobbank profile and upon completion you should get the confirmation message in your email and mycic account... You should also find that your EE profile status is Submitted, open and Job bank registration is Accepted.."

So sorry to hear about what happened to you Wasim. Nearly happened to us too, but had that nagging gut feel when it didn't feel right. I am doing it on my own, and with the help of these wonderful bunch of eager beavers (pun intended) slowly getting through it.

What if Wasim recreated his profile guys? Would that not work as he cant even log into his MyCIC account (from what I surmise)

I think if he recreates now, he'll sit with 2 EE profile and that's a no-no.

One other way is to let the profile lapse. Technically, after a year on the EE without being drawn, the profile will expire. And then re-create from there.

Wasim, do you know when your EE profile was first created?

Thanks MaryJane...but it didn't work

Qrios is 100% correct...I can't log in to my CIC account

It was created in September last year...I don't really want to wait a year :(

MJ I think if he does not link up his job bank within 30 days it lapses! I will check my letter on my profile when I get home and update here.

Update:

This is what my welcome letter states:

You must get confirmation of your nomination, register for Job Bank, or update your profile with a valid job offer within 30 days. If you do not, your Express Entry profile will expire and you will not be considered for permanent residence in Canada.

Wasim, I think that's why you can't login, as you never did the link up within the time specified....

Hi Wasim

Okay, thought maybe your EE profile was created early last year (Jan/Feb) that's why it's asking you to re-validate.

I would agree with Raquel then that if you don't re-validate your Job Bank, it in turn expires your EE profile in 30 days. But I'll check up on this some more and come back if I get confirmation.

Hi Wasim! I believe that candidates normally receive ITAs through MyCIC. I'll wait for some of the current applicants to confirm this detail.

MJ is correct. You do get an email to say that there is a message/change in your MyCIC account. All the best with your application

@MaryJane and @Qrios1 are correct. If a change is made to the account you will receive an email stating that a change has been made and you should login to see what has changed.

Hi everyone,

I have a Job Bank question too, that I'm hoping that someone can assist me with.

My partner is the main applicant and our EE was registered last week. According to the documents, there is only one EE profile number and Job Seeker Validation code.

Do we use the same number for both on Job Seeker or does this mean that I cannot register on the Job Seeker website?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Eduard_Marcell, from what I understand, the EE profile number and job seeker code is linked to the main applicant.

Pardon my asking, but is there a reason you need a job seeker validation code yourself?

Hi @MaryJane

Thank you for your response. I've since found out that it is linked to the main applicant only.

My impression was, that if I could have a code for myself, it would increase our chances of getting an invite to apply. My partner has since registration, had a few invites to apply for available positions but the salaries and the levels are far too junior.

Hi @Eduard_Marcell

If you fulfill the requirements of EE yourself, you should be able to create an EE profile with you as the main applicant and your partner as accompanying. This is separate from the profile you have now where your partner is the main applicant and you, the accompanying.

That is, if you want to get a job seeker validation code for yourself.

Thank you @MaryJane! Unfortunately I do not fulfill the requirements of EE by myself - I have a diploma and my skills grow on trees there :) I've thought about trying to swop Marcell's details with mine, but that won't work as I'm a graphic designer/marketing specialist and Marcell a CA. CAs are in higher demand and it is also the reason why I'm not the main applicant.

I guess I'll just have to continue flooding the recruiters/advertisers with my applications, hoping to hit the right position.
