Nelline 2,265 Posted October 25, 2015 That was elk and bison Lawrence. The spices are a combination of "biltong" spices and, believe it or not, jerkey spices. Without the sweetness. We believe we've left SA so long ago we can now combine "traditions!" ;-)We use a simple dehumidifer from Cabela's (about $60 to buy) to do small batches. About 4-5 lbs at a time. Perfect for our needs. Great photo, really enjoy everything that Fall has to offer! What are using to make your biltong Nelline?
Guest Posted October 25, 2015 Thanks for sharing Nelline. One of my Canadian business colleagues is an avid hunter, but his family don't eat venison? I don't have a problem with that, free venison and we love it! Now I'll try my hand at biltong for the first time in Canada.

Nelline 2,265 Posted December 8, 2015 I am not a very good decorator, tend to keep it simple with clear lights and red baubles, no imagination at all! That's a lovely tree. Gorgeous! You must show us when you have it decorated.

Guest Posted December 9, 2015 Very disappointed - our snow has all gone. All thanks to those famous Alberta Chinook winds: http://www.oneaverageguy.com/chinook-wind-the-snow-eater/ You will at some point welcome them through the long winters in Canada
