Tucked away, somewhere in my soul heart, is the unrealistic, crazy notion that because emigrating was tough for most of us, that "everyday" tragedies such as this one, won't happen to us in Canada. We feel safe in Canada, for different reasons, and when a darling child's life is suddenly taken as this little one, it makes me realise how fragile life really is.

I cannot imagine the pain and heartaches this family must be going through.
