Hi

No better news here,

Sent to CIO Sydney April 2010

Full Docs to PTA OCT 2010

"In Process" since Feb 2011,

following that nothing else.

If you want to see the positive here, as we all have essentially the same status, I figure it means that we are still ok.

Hi,

I believe the timeline set is 12 months from the date Pretoria receives the documents. All the Visa posts are trying to stick to the new time frame.

There may be external factors delaying the process - one definite delaying event is the implementation of a new computer system in immigration. I do not have any news where Pretoria stands in this regard. I know that some Visa Posts in US has a note on their web sites in this regard. Be prepared for this.

Nothing here,

Our documents have been with Pretoria since August 2009.

My husband went to see the MP again last week and she said she will possible hear within a week due

to the voting going on now.

I emailed them in October last year, and not a squeek!

My husband just got a new wp and LMO for a new company, we will be sending that to them soon with our South African and Canadian police clearence. We have not even received our requests for medicals yet....

It has been 20 months.

It is almost the anniversary date of sending the application to Sydney, and no news yet. I will continue to wait.

I am already planning the first of many garage sales to be held in July. Have to get the garage clean and de-spidered first.

Most unused electrical stuff will be on sale, along with whatever else has not been used for a few years.

I have to start being ruthless - very difficult for a compulsive hoarder

It would be interesting to see what the quarterly report of processing times will look like at the end of May 2011.

I wonder where we are now in the queue? :)

Hi everyone!

I am new to this forum...

My complete set of documents were forwarded to Pretoria during August 2010. My application status says 'In Process' but I am not sure how long it's been that way

I received a letter dated October 2010 stating that the application had been received an that I should not contact them for 9 to 12 months...

I have not heard anything since.... Glad there's others here like me :D

Let's hope for some movement soon...

Anyone know what the timespan is like for acceptance of the medicals once they are sent in?

Regards,

Yusuf

Thanks :)

Does anyone know if getting a job during this period would increase the processing time?

I am wondering whether I should even bother looking for work at this time...

Hi

Or PR application has been at the Pretoria Office from Jan 2010

Changed to "In Process" January 2011

As we have read there are many of us in the same frustrating situation, waiting, waiting, waiting. So wish we could get our medical instruction and so that we can move on with our lives, one positive is that we are here in Canada looking forward to another great BC summer.

Vasbyt!

That sure is a long time  Could that be because you're out of SA?

You're lucky to be there already though... I wish I were outta here

Hi All.

I am new to the forum and was hoping for some advise.

First my time line.

9 June 2010 Sent docs to Nova Scotia

22 June 2010 Received in Nova Scotia ( Post office Tracking )

25 October 2010 Received email stating that we need to submit full docs to PTA

25 January 2011 Sent full docs to PTA

28 January 2011 Received in PTA ( Post office Tracking )

3 March 2011 Ecas acknowledges that the file has been received by the PTA Visa office.

ECase first stated that the file was in " Progress " and then later changed to " Received by Visa Office "

My questions hence are:

1) Has anyone received a formal AOR for the full set of docs and if so, is this in the form of a letter or email ?

2) What is the time line for receiving a formal AOR ?

3) How long does it take to receive medical docs once they have your file ?

4) Is the medical docs sent via post or email ?

5) At any stage is one issued with a second Ecase Immigration file number and is so, when should this be used.

Many thanks for your assistance, it would be greatly appreciated.

Regards

I am also new here but I will try to answer those questions to the best of my ability

1) Yes, I received a formal AOR in the form of a letter with a 'B' immigration file number about 2 months after the full set of documents were sent to Pta.

2) Mine took about 2 months

3)The AOR that I received states that one should not contact pretoria for status enquiries for 9 to 12 months. So my guess is that the request for medicals will be received at around the 12 month mark. This is something that I am wondering about too, so if someone else has a better answer please share this with us.

4) I have no idea

5) Answered in number 1 above

I hope that I was of some help

Good luck, and happy waiting!

New processing times has just been released. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/skilled-fed.asp

Looks like PTA is now taking just a wee bit longer adding 2 months into the process. It now takes 14 months for us pre-June 2010 applicants. Not too bad I suppose.

Just keep on waiting....

I am confused. When do they start counting down the 14 months? From the date you hand in the complete package at Pretoria, but also if you handed it in early do you need to sit the time out until after the 120 days or do they start counting from when status change to in process?
