I know my husband uses Tiger Direct and Canada Computers a lot for his bits and pieces.

Hi There

My husband is an expert IT security specialist. Looking for work from SA is proving fruitless. Any suggestions?

We are going for our medicals on 13 June 2008 so employmeny would be in th enext few months.

Regards

Caroline

Hi Caroline

Please can you give us some more information about yourselves in the Forum. If you are going for medicals on 13th June did you apply for PR and if so when?

You say your husband is looking for a job as an IT security specialist. Which part of Canada are you looking at settling in? This information would help those that have contacts in the field to respond to you.

Hi Again

We have never been to Canada but research has not managed to convince us that any one place of Canada is more beautiful than the next. Each city we have looked at offers us so much. Nevertheless, we need to first get on our feet financially so wherever we get a job is where we will initially start. I imagine that the Toronto area is going to be it, with my husbands (Erich) skills.

Hi Caroline

Have you looked at a couple of the Job websites? It will give you a good idea of salaries and where the jobs that you are interested in is typically based? Here are a few that I'm familiar with that are good or else search on Google under Canada Jobs - there are a thousands sites available.

http://www.workopolis.ca

http://ca.hotjobs.yahoo.com

http://www.canadajobs.com

etc. etc. etc

Good luck with your search. If we new a bit more about the positions you are looking for that would be great as I used to work at SAP (IT industry) and already have my old job back. My boss in Canada (we used to stay there before) is very well connected across many lines of industry. Or alternatively email me your cv's. I'm in the recruitment field myself so used to marketing candidates.
