  4. http://www.canadavisa.com/news/ircc-updates-instructions-on-procedures-related-to-police-certificates-and-express-entry-completeness-checks.html IRCC, formerly CIC, updates instructions on police certificates with respect to Express Entry selection system. This update may affect individuals who receive an Invitation To Apply (ITA). Please read carefully. To note, PCCs are required upfront. Updates on CIC website - http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/express/intake-complete.asp
  5. Hi peoples, I was hoping someone would be able to assist as I can't seem to find any info on this. If you get your PCC back and it indicates you have traffic offenses, like failing to stop or over taking on a solid line, etc. How do you go about getting that cleared from your record? Is it really necessary to do so? Anybody here with experience? This is not for me btw. Some help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, N

Also, does anyone know whether they will ask for US State clearance as well? We spent 6 months in the USA in 2002 (more than 10 years ago), when I worked there as a Guest Researcher. From previous posts on the forum, and the CIC website, I am guessing that we still need police clearance from the USA as you need police clearance for all countries entered since age 18. The last time I tried this, (2008) I was able to get the clearance but my wife's fingerprints kept being returned as "unreadable". I was able to get the clearance document myself, but now have to apply again as its only valid for a year. Back in 2008, this was a costly and frustrating exercise as you need to get the fingerprints at an SA police station, then DHL them to the USA with a cheque for $18 each time; then wait and wait... If anyone knows an easier way, let me know. Our current plan is to have both our fingerprints taken at 4 separate police stations, and then to send all of them to the USA, with a cover letter asking them to please try all sets. One of the 4 should be legible. Lets hold thumbs...
