Hi guys If this is a duplication of anyone's previous question, please just reply with a link to the thread that can answer the following: My fiance and I are both creating profiles on the CIC website, one with me as the main applicant and one with him as the main applicant. We are both listed on each other's main application to try increase our chances of getting invitations to apply. Yesterday though, whilst Googling, we found that some people advise against this as the CIC supposedly has issues with "double applications". Because if both profiles are chosen, one would decline the invitation and tag along with the other who has accepted and this, from what we've found, reflects badly on the individual and could cause problems. Can anyone verify if this is a problem or not? Has anyone done the double application thing without any problems? Thanks in advance!
After some discussion amongst ourselves, the host team decided to enable another little fun part to our sense of community spirit. Avatars are a fun way of attaching an image to your profile, which is then displayed in the left margin along with the rest of your public profile information. These are typically cartoonish pictures, or even a photograph of yourself or anything else you fancy. To upload an avatar file (gif, jpg, etc) to your profile, just hop over to your Profile (click on the down-arrow next to your name in the top right corner of the forum, and click on Profile), click on the picture icon next to the circular avatar placeholder, and follow the instructions. Please also refrain from using animated avatars - these tend to be distractive while reading posts, and any animated avatars will be removed without further warning. You will also see that we also support Gravatar as an avatar option. The second issue it that of signatures. We want to ask you to keep your signatures as simple as possible. If at all possible, please stick to plain text. We want to allow folks to be able to concentrate on the postings themselves, and it is also for that reason that we restrict advertising banners to the top and bottom of the forum. Having large graphics, or large text in your signature clutters the threads in which you post, making the forum experience for others more difficult to follow. If you really want to have a picture associated with your posts, do make use of the avatar feature discussed above. Also, your profile provides for a website address where you can point people to your personal, business, or favorite club website. Please don't put website links in your signatures. Enjoy!
