Full Version: Application Checkup

Hi All

Is there a way to check up on your application before they notify you that it has been accepted for visa office processing, short of checking your credit card account every day?

Thanks

Yip CC is about the only way. Register for sms notification, that way you will be greatly surprised when the sms goes through. CIC in Sydney uses automated processing. I say this because it was about 3am in the morning (5am in morning in Sydney NS) when my sms came through.

Not necessarily. It could just be the time the batch has been updated. On our system I can enter 100+ transactions and only post it once I'm done or set the system to post the transactions at a predefined time every day. Authorisations only gets done when it gets posted, so I could have captured the transaction at 10am, but if I set the time to midnight to post the transaction, it will only go through then. The other thing is delays in sms notifications. We've had sms notifications arrive more than 48 hours late at times, and didn't find it a reliable means of tracking stuff.

It's a service provided by your bank/credit card company, to notify you of any transactions going off on your credit card. You can just contact them and register for it. Small note though, Virgin money does not have the service sad.gif
So i log in frequently to see if anything happened.

This sounds like automation to me. The fact that it posts programmatically during the middle of the night and sens you an sms notification that time day is pretty automated to me.

I have not had any problems with delays before.

I believe my comments were aimed to offer an alternative, which has not not been considered before. whether it works well for others is a different story.

I am am further lead to believe that Sydney innitial processing takes 2-months which is in-line with CIC time line estimates
