Anyone know if there is a limit per transaction, and if so, what it is? Our forex regional manager doesn't know. So I will be phoning some more.. Just hoping someone is in the know, else I will update with answer once I got it.

Ok, first answer - R20k per transaction. Going to see if my banker can get that limit upped for one transaction.

Hi Karin,

Just beware, the bank will most likely charge you a currency conversion fee on every CC transaction done abroad. I recently had to pay for something to the effect of R6100 and the conversion charge on it was +- R160 !! mad.gif That was with Go Banking (basically a division of Nedbank).

Ciao!

Final answer: No way we will be able to buy the car on CC. We have 3 options available: 1) Draw cash at a Canadian bank, 2) Travelers' cheques, or 3) a bank draft in his name, open account and wait for money to clear... Will decide tonight what to do...

I am aware of that. Luckily our fees haven't been too much (in our opinion) in the past when we were overseas.

Found a solution to our problem that won't have him travel with large amounts of cash/travelers cheques. Thanks
