    Expired COPR,anyone?

Hello. After my COPR expired, I sent a webform to CIC indicating that I am ready to travel to Canada. After a few days, I received the generic response. Today I received something else. They requesting the following to be submitted via the IRCC Webform : ________________________________________________________________________________________ 1. Your plans to live and settle in Canada upon arrival · documents to support your living situation in Canada (i.e. address, lease agreement, home ownership document) · employment plans in Canada, (i.e. location of work, letter from employer) · any other relevant information. 2. How you plan to quarantine for 14 days when you arrive in Canada, including how you will have access to groceries, get medical care, and other essential services. While in quarantine, you will not be able to leave your place of quarantine for any reason. This is mandatory even if you have no COVID-19 symptoms. · proof of funds (i.e, bank and/or credit card statements) 3. your proposed or confirmed travel itinerary · a description of your proposed or confirmed travel itinerary, including travel tickets if you have already purchased them Please provide the above information to IRCC via the IRCC Webform. We will evaluate your request upon receipt and let you know whether or not you are approved to travel to Canada at this time. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ Anyone else received this message recently ? Not sure yet on what to do with the proposed travel itinerary. Not sure if its good idea to book tickets before getting the VISA outcome.

    OCTOBER/NOVEMBER 19 Applications

So I got a ghost update yesterday. After months and months of silence it was really great to see that somebody touched my file. I am hoping it was the security being passed and now just wait for that golden e-mail. I do realise that the borders are still closed and realistically we would only travel September if that golden e-mail came through this month. It is great to see that they starting to open the VFS offices in other countries. It seems that things are slowly moving on their side. Anyways, the eternal optimist in me is forever hopeful we get to start packing soon. Hope everyone else is staying sane.
  10. Hi @OHCANADAAA I received my P.Eng license in April of last year. The PEO is going through a number of changes at the moment after its external review. As it stands, you will need to submit you education for review, i.e. transcripts, curriculum, degree certificate. I was requested to have my transcripts stamped and seal by my university, before submission. If the PEO deems your degree as not satisfactory, they will assign you technical exams. I didn't have to go through the technical exams process, as my degree from Wits & ERC interview was satisfactory. You will have to obtain 12 months of what they term "relevant" Canadian engineering experience, and 3 testimonials, 2 of which must be from P.Engs. You will have to write the not standardized online ethics exam. I was one of the last few that wrote the written PEO administered exam. Once all the planets align, you pay your application fee, and submit you P.Eng application. If you aren't licensed, you can still do engineering work, it will just be under the supervision of a P.Eng. You will just be and engineer-in-training. The one good "perk" of being a P.Eng, if you'e not stamping drawings, is that it does make you more marketable. I work in oil and gas, and to be honest, non of the mechanical engineers in both branches of our fixed and rotating equipment, are P.Engs. So, it just depends on where you work and what is required from you.

    Continuing UNISA studies in Canada

Hi Adam, my wife completed the final year of her UNISA degree here in Canada, the process was fairly painless using UNISA's online portal, for payments and study material, and writing exams at Seneca College, Markham, ON (the closest exam venue to us). However, and this is a big however, she graduated at the end of last year and she is still waiting for here for her degree certificate & transcripts, and trying to get hold of an accountable person at UNISA from Canada during Covid, is impossible. The foreign levy wasn't too be, if I recall correctly, especially if you're paying in CAD. If you would like to enroll for a program at a Canadian University, I think most review your transcripts and curriculum, and assign credits based on that. We have a lot of foreign students here, reach out to the university of your choice online, I'm sure you will get a response.

    S.A Passport Renewal

Thanks for the info, Deidre. We had success with the Consulate in Toronto, bar their absolutely poor attitude, nearly 8 month wait and run around getting a notarized copy of our marriage certificate. Unfortunately, this was all pre-Covid, so I don't know how helpful this information is now.

    Expired COPR,anyone?

Ours expire on Saturday have filled in web form and on Monday i tweeted IRCC to ask when we will know what date they have extended them to/process to do so. They responded and said even if you don't get a response as long as webform is completed they have received your request and as soon as you can fly again to let them know. I did see that they were reopening the offices that process PR applications this week so perhaps things will start moving now. As an aside i was requested to fill in a survey on how COVID19 has affected my travel plans and one of the questions was how long i felt the extension granted should be in order to make it easier to travel to Canada to activate PR- good sign that they are considering what would be most helpful/beneficial to people affected. Good luck everyone

    Expired COPR,anyone?

Notify them as early as you can! We were supposed to travel on the 19th of March when all hell broke loose. COPR expired 27th March. Since then I've raised webforms and sent emails to PTA that we are ready to go. We have been getting the same generic response. So the point I am trying to make is get on their case as soon as you can. I have had no luck since our expiry 3 months ago. The long wait continues.

Howzit Marv, mine expires at the end of July and I have already raised 2 webforms and responses I got back was that my file was in Pretoria and that they will forward onto them. So right now I can only wait until they reopen. We also have a newborn to add to our application, so ya, just waiting right now.

    Physician Job offer Manitoba PNP

Hi, I’ve been offered a job (specialist physician). Currently have an application in EE but CRS 416 due to age. I know I can get some points (max of 50) I think for a valid job offered which meets the criteria. Already maxed for IELTS and education so not way of increasing this score. This one does but I’m still waiting for the LMIA details. Been in the pool since August 2019 and doubt that’s even with the extra point for the job offer that EE FSW is the route to go for me. I’ve been exploring the Manitoba PNP and wondered if anyone has been through this. I know that one requirement is that you have a family worker or “friend” resident in Manitoba - we have a friend. So from my research thus far, it seems like the work permit route is not the way to go unless the job is non permanent. Is this true? Has anyone gone the Manitoba PRP route? I would expect it to be smooth sailing if I have a job already but on the online application, they don’t ask any details about the job or skill set. If anyone out there has any advice I’d be most grateful

    Expired COPR,anyone?

Hello. My PR VISA expired yesterday and looking for some advice. I used webform a few months ago to notify them about my documents that will expire. Anyone knows how long the process will take once you notify them that you are ready to travel ? I am just thinking....Would it also be better to notify them sooner that you are ready to travel, to take into account the processing time before obtaining another VISA ? Anyone considering/ or have used the recent expat flights from South Africa ?

    Medical rejection/ refusal

Morning everyone, so we spoke to the Lawyer last night from Bellisemo. At this stage it looks like we are early in the process and that it may still be okay, for now we have to wait and see what they do with the information, so its still in a process of assessment. It could still result in a refusal in which case we would have an opportunity to submit a mitigation plan and "fight" it. The lawyers were really great and would recommend them !
