Cheapest way to transfer funds internationally

I recall using Transferwise when my mom was still alive and I used to send her money from Canada to SA so there must be a CAD$ to ZAR option. I haven’t used it in a couple of years but their app was really good and fees were low.

Have you looked into xoom? They're a new transfer service from PayPal.

Cheapest way to transfer funds internationally

TransferWise and XE doesn't seem to have a ZAR -> CAD option. Exchange4Free OTP isn't my mobile phone at the moment Did my cash through FNB, their rate wasn't too bad to be honest. Asked if I can get a special rate for >R100k, but still haven't had a response from fxtravel@fnb.co.za

Thanks @Amy G, I'm so relieved. How long did you have to wait for your passports after submission to VFS? I'm sure it's not as long as the 176 days I waited for PPR lol

Yup, I know she would have been fine to pass it but it was nice not having to have the stress and the expense. Citizenship is expensive enough!

I know of people who did that with the PCC, but then you will have to submit those later (webform is useful). Regarding medical, I applied via the FSW stream so not sure if it is handled the same way, but I submitted my application the day after doing my medical since the medical practice sent the results directly to CIC and I just attached the result page (which I was given during my medical) to my application.

    SA Passport and Stamped Pages

I submitted pictures of all pages in all passports used in my travel declarations, but since you don't have that I wouldn't be too worried. I would simply explain that in the reference letter, confident they would understand. I'm pretty sure they've had people who lost passports or had it stolen or whatever. If they want more info on that, they would request it.

    SA Passport and Stamped Pages

Hi Everyone. hope you are all well. Was wondering if someone knew the answer to this one. SO we got the invite to apply as CEC through EE last month. With regards to our passport copies to upload that includes the stamps for travel. Does that need to show all the travel stamps for every travel event as I indicated in the application Travel History section? Reason I am asking this is because some of those stamps are on my old expired passport that I dont have anymore (pre 2012 ). So anything from 2009 - 2012 travel wont be in my current passport? Would that be a problem when submitting the passport copy on the application? Same goes for my wife. 90% of her travel stamps are in her old passport (she got a new one last year before we moved to Canada in April 2018), so she will have like 4 of 20 trips she declared in her current passport. (She does have the old passport). ALSO: regarding the medicals and PCC. We are doing ours next week. Once we've applied, is it possible to then already submit with "proof of payment" for these, or do we have to wait for the results and new PCC before submitting?

    NQF 5 - WES Evaluation

@rnviljoen Hi, I had a NQF5 Diploma evaluated as a college certificate diploma of one semester, but have seen others receive ECA of 2 year diploma for exact same qualification of mine. Confusing

@GrantM That's great! Unfortunately I need 2 year diploma ECA and both myself and husband need the 8/7/7/7 IELTS combo to get to 442 points! That's about the same cost they wanted to charge me to reprint certificates! That is a bit steep for just a letter... That must have been such a relief that she didn't need to do English test for Citizenship!

    Halifax newcomers let's connect here

Hi @Druce Good question, I would like to follow this thread I have nothing to compare to but as a family we have found that we have been able to build toward goals quickly (car, house, etc) on entry level salaries. Halifax is a small city, small population, very laid back culture, big student population. lots of things for kids and young people and summer is very outdoor focused with festivals and events and things I too would like to know more about Toronto, Winnipeg, Calgary etc.

Ah, I see. We didn't use hers at all to get over here, fortunately we had enough points that we didn't have to have her write IELTS etc but we got in on the previous rules before Express Entry. What I can tell you is that ITEC wanted £35 to issue a letter stating that her course was completed in English. We needed that to apply for citizenship so that we didn't have to spend money to have her do IELTS or CELPIP to prove that she can speak English. Luckily CIDESCO did it for free.

Hi guys, I finally got the golden email on Saturday 11 May 2019. I'm ecstatic and relieved at the same time. My AOR date is 16 November 2018 so my processing time up to PPR was 176 days. I'm at the VFS office for passport submission and then on to the BIG plans. All the best to others still waiting.

CRS score not showing at the end of application

Yep it's usually funds and ECA plus IELTS, that will deem you ineligible so start a new application when you have numbers that work and voila it will work
