Hey guys I wasnt sure where to post this but I really need some advice!  I am a canadian citizen and my friend lives in South Africa.  He applied for a visitor visa February 18/ 2018 and today is 5 months with still no answer.  His application has said "we are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements" since February or March!  Is there any insight or advice anyone can give me? We have sent 2 case specific enquiries with still no reply.  The stress and frustration is getting to be too much. It's so hard to have hope for good news 😣😥

Thank you very much. We have currently completed all our necessary documents, just waiting for our accreditation to come back. We have been applying to every single opening that has come up but to no avail

Yes. I know of one person who is already in Canada, if you join the FB page called "South Africans in Atlantic Canada" you'll be able to connect with him there, there's a few threads with advice on this on that page. Another person I know of is at the WP application stage. However he applied for a position with a company in NB, not knowing they were already on the AIPP as designated employers. It has meant he was able to skip the LMIA requirement.

Hello Everyone,   Further to the previous post, we have arrived in Toronto about 3 weeks ago. The experience has been great, we love the city and its people.   Regarding finding jobs, we haven't had any success at all. We have sent out applications using the most common job searching platforms, including Monster, Indeed , Glassdoor and LinkedIn.   We have learned that it is very important to network in order to gain access to employment opportunities.   Does anyone know someone (Need not be an ex-Saffa) working at a company which employs data scientists and/or data analysts that we can chat with?   We can be contacted via LinkedIn, refer to the below for links to our respective profiles: Ruan van Zyl Anneke Deetlefs   Thanks!
